Indian actor Mangal Dhillon, known for his roles in television and Bollywood films, passes away from cancer in Ludhiana, Punjab
Dhillon made his television debut in the 1986 serial "Katha Sagar" and appeared in movies like "Khoon Bhari Maang" and "Dayavan."
He received awards for his performances, including the Radio and Television Advertising Practitioners' Association award and the Baba Farid Award from the Punjab Government
Indian actor, writer, director and film producer Mangal Singh Dhillon passed away due to cancer. He was a prominent television performer in the 80s and 90s who also appeared in a number of Bollywood films. Mangal, who was suffering from cancer, died in Ludhiana, Punjab.
He made his television debut with the 1986 serial Katha Sagar and then played the role of Lubhaya Ram in the show Buniyaad.
The late actor has appeared in films like Khoon Bhari Maang, Zakhmi Aurat, Dayavan, Kahan Hai Kanoon, Apna Desh Paraye Log, Bhrashtachar, Naaka Bandi, Zindagi Ek Juaa, Yugandhar, Sahibaan, Dil Tera Aashiq, Dalaal, Nishana, Yash, Nagmani , Train to Pakistan, Janasheen, Toofan Singh and more.
In 1998, he received the Radio and Television Advertising Practitioners' Association award for best actor for his part in the television series Junoon. The Punjab Government honored him with the Baba Farid Award for the film Khalsa.
In 2006, he received an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Chief Minister of Punjab, as well as several other honors from organizations in Punjab and beyond. He received the Mohan Rakesh Gold Medal as the finest actor.
Mangal was born on June 18 and just a few days before his birthday he died.
